In other news, the neighbor planning an ice cream social has not yet nailed down a date. We’ll keep you posted.

Hopefully no one in these pictures gets upset with me for posting these. Thank you to the families who hosted today’s neighborhood cookout. The food was tasty, and it was great to meet so many of our neighbors.

One of our neighbors has posted signs at both gates regarding a neighborhood cook out this weekend. Regrettably, I drove by too quickly this morning to see details, but there is a cookout on Lake Warren Drive Saturday. Look for details on the signs. And if whomever is hosting would like to contact me, I’ll post more details.

Hi neighbor! It’s spring, and many of us have been outside ameliorating our yards. Did you know Orange County gives away free trees? This may be late notice for you, but you can get free trees the next two weekends, and one weekend per month for the next few months. There are actually two different free tree programs. More information here and also here.

We got 2 free trees two years ago through this program, and it was mobbed. Get there early, if you decide to go. The earlier you go, the better chance you’ll have a choice of trees. And, if nothing else, you can do like we did: we planted our elm tree across the pond because our yard had no more room for trees.

Also, the Orange County Extension Center there on Conway near Judge offers free education classes. We recently took one on edible landscapes and thought it was very useful.

The St. Johns Water Management is running new commercials with a revised watering schedule.

Homes with odd numbered addresses may water on Wednesday and Saturday.

Homes with even numbered addresses may water on Thursday and Sunday.

Please update your timers accordingly.

Neighbors, A notice was sent out along with your dues invoice concerning yard sales and vendor codes. Yard Sales continue to be a problem for the neighborhood both in congestion and security and the board is getting a large number of complaints due to the frequency of them. There have been yard sales almost every weekend which is an inconvenience to all who live in the neighborhood. The board voted on two yards sales per year for the community for which the board will have a banner made and will also run an ad in the paper and on craigs list. We will have one in April and one in October and the dates will be posted on the website and a letter will be sent out a month in advance to let you know of the date. Please be considerate of your neighbors and take advantage of the benefits of a community yard sale. We recently restocked the ponds with fish, carp I think, to eat the green growing in our ponds. The gators and otters apparently think our ponds are their own personal buffet.

This was the smaller gator. We such a much, much larger gator that same weekend (last weekend), but didn’t have a camera handy when we saw him.

PURPOSE: Annual Membership Meeting / Vote for Board of Directors

• Meeting was called to order at 6:47 PM by Maureen Heretick.
• Proxies were certified
• Affidavit of Notice was verified
• State of the Association – Maureen Heretick and the BOD had no discussion.
• Requested Director Nominations from the floor – no one was nominated
• Candidates were introduced
• Secret Ballot voting occurred
• Open forum discussion while ballots were counted
o Homeowner asked why homeowners if they would be getting statements instead of a coupon book—the BOD decided to use statements
o Discussion of illegally parked cars
o Discussion regarding foreclosures
• Voting results were announced – the current board of directors will remain as the Board of Directors for 2009-2010:
• Adjourned at 7:10 PM

After the meeting, the board of directors had a brief gathering to decide the positions of the board. The results are:
1. Maureen Heretick – President
2. Michael Heretick – V President
3. Mitch Haller – Director/Treasurer
4. Rachel Pereira – Secretary/Communications
5. Glen Campbell - Director

Next meeting set for Budget Workshop will be set and then posted.

Gate Codes!!! It appears alot of people are using invalid gate codes. 2004 is not a valid gate code. Every home should have they’re own personal gate code. If your gate code isn’t working or is not your personal number please call Grace Management Company and they will let you pick a gate code. Any questions, call the management company.
