Just a friendly reminder that if you have not already done so, HOA dues are due.
Apparently the call box at the Daetwyler gate is not working properly. When someone tries to call, they get a busy signal. We are aware and we’re working on it.
I am, once again, dumbfounded.
Folks, if you want to have the gates opened so you can have a garage sale, it’s really, really simple. Just call or email our management company, stacie@cmsorlando.com, or leave a comment on this site, as all comments are emailed to me and I receive them regularly. We will happily have the gates opened for the duration of your sale.
The wrong, inconsiderate-of-your-neighbors way to do it is posting a sign on the call box with a code to get into the neighborhood. I mean, really. Does that seem prudent to you? Are we not paying to live in a gated community for added security? Is it really necessary to give every person who maybe just came into the entrance to make a U-turn access to our community as long as your code is in effect?
Why don’t you give everyone a key to your house, too?
Like it’s not appalling enough that some inconsiderate dolt keeps jimmying the Conway entrance gate.
At 630p last night, our Conway gate was repaired.
At 530a this morning, the gate was open.
Someone, who apparently does not wish to live in a gated community, managed to prop open one of the entry gates. Again.
Folks, don’t send me angry emails about this any more. I don’t know who is doing this. Do you? I will happily confront this inconsiderate person, but I don’t know who it is.
Can you narrow down the time line for me to make it easier to discern when this vandal is sabotaging our gate? I didn’t go back out last night; if you came or went via the Conway gate last night, please let me know what time and if the gate was closed for you.
In other gate news, the cement pad at the Daetwyler gate has been repaired. That gate should be operational here shortly. You know, until some other imbecile rams it again.
Don’t forget: HOA meeting next Thursday, September 4th, at the library at 630p.
A number of you have expressed displeasure about the gutter down at the Daetwyler entrance (Fulcrum/Seminole) always being flooded. The board recently contacted our HOA management company… again. We share in your frustration and have been trying to get the problem solved. The City of Orlando will not take responsibility for it because we are a gated community. In the past, we have had the drain cleared; however, the drain continued to back up onto that street corner.
We are continuing to try to resolve this problem by working with both our community management company and the City.
Believe me, we are also concerned about the giant puddle and the potential for mosquito breeding heaven. If you have any helpful suggestions about how to resolve the problem, since the City of Orlando and our mangement company are slowing us down, please feel free to let us know.
The next HOA meeting will be on Thursday, September 4th at 630pm at the Library, located on Hoffner & 436.
Please mark your calendars, tell your neighbors, and plan to attend.
From AT&T:
AT&T, or a company contracted by AT&T, will be performing work operations in the Conway Harbor Subdivision to upgrade the condition of existing communication facilities.
AT&T is committed to being a good neighbor by working with property owners and communities throughout this process.
While we are working we will be accessing our plant below many of the residents’ property where our terminals are located. During this time there will be several holes or pits open, and some sidewalk broken to access our cable. While work is in progress, I will ask all residents to be patient with us, and give us the time indicated to finish our work and get restoration of the properties started.
Work is expected to begin by 08/13/08 and be completed by 08/29/08.
Normally if you lock your gate, please leave it unsecured. If you have a dog that is usually outdoors, please secure your dog in the house during this time so that AT&T may safely access communication facilities located on the property.
Landscaping and restoration crews will arrive as soon as possible if needed; to repair any landscaping that may be affected by this work.
If you have any questions about this work, please contact me at 407-835-8631.
We apologize for any inconvenience we may cause you.
Thank you,
Andrew Zephir
AT&T Construction and Engineering Manager
The gate crasher has been found and will be held accountable.
That was fast.
On Saturday morning, 2:16am, what appears to be a dark-haired male driving a two-door vehicle (possibly a silver Ford Mustang) crashed through the Daetwyler gate, severely damaging our gate. Folks, this is why we installed the cameras.
Please help us identify this crazy driver so we may press charges against him.
I don’t know about you, but I hate when my HOA dues go up. Continued gate vandalism is a big burden on our HOA’s budget.
If you know this person but are apprehensive about calling him out online, please email me: rachel at pereiraville dot com. This is your neighborhood, too. Help keep it safe.
